UKAS have a stipulation that approximately 20 people within CAS, who have responsibility for instructing others in work processes, are accredited with appropriate training. Organisational constraints dictate that this training needs to be delivered in a one-day format.

Need

The current need is for these people to receive training in the one-to-one training techniques before the end of September 2003. All delegates are to receive a Certificate of Attendance from Woodland Grange as evidence of the receipt of this training.

Solution

A specifically designed 1-day event was delivered at the client premises in Coventry, focusing in on the following objectives:

  • Define what one-to-one trainer skills are and practice them in a ‘safe’ environment.
  • Prepare for a training session.
  • Describe the benefits of breaking down processes using task and knowledge analysis.
  • Explain why and how people learn and apply this knowledge to the design of a training session.
  • Deliver a training session using a Tell/Show/Do approach.
  • Build rapport with trainees.
